Article Marketing is a zero cost activity that can help you start getting visitors to your website or blog faster than you would believe possible. With article marketing, within a day, you can have targeted visitors showing up at your virtual doorstep.

Article marketing provides you with enormous potential. It literally provides you with the ability to change your life.

Does that sound like an exaggeration? It isn't.

Article marketing gives you the ability to start out with little or no money at all and grab a huge share of whatever market you like, immediately. It can give you the ability to quit your day job, to make your own hours, to decide what kinds of products or field you would like to specialize in, and to do this with no advertising costs.

Article marketing gives you the ability to start out with little or no money at all and grab a huge share of whatever market you like, immediately. It can give you the ability to quit your day job, to make your own hours, to decide what kinds of products or field you would like to specialize in, and to do this with no advertising costs.

Article marketing is also the most durable form of marketing available, because articles are displayed online literally for years.

If you do the right niche and keyword research, you will have articles sitting on the front pages of the search engine results, sending visitors to your blog or website, and making you money, years after the article was written. You create your article - your free advertising - once and it pays you back with traffic forever.

Not to be immodest, but I am very qualified to teach this - because I have extensive experience with article marketing and I have experienced its life changing power firsthand.

Article marketing has emerged as one of the most popular, risk free ways to jump start an online business.

It’s risk free because all that you need to be able to do is sit there and type. You do not need to become an expert in pay per click advertising, which is so challenging that even those who make their living with it admit that they can never predict which ad campaigns will make or lose money.

You do not need to risk hundreds, or thousands, or even tens of thousands of dollars on pay per click campaigns - which will vanish from Google or MSN or Yahoo’s pages as soon as you stop pouring money into their pockets, and which have no guarantee of success.

Some articles get better results than others - and we are going to teach you how to make sure that your articles are the ones that get all the attention and send people where you want them to go.

What It Takes To Be An Effective Article Marketer

The beauty of article marketing is that it can be used by anyone, with any level of online marketing experience. You can walk in off the street and start making money right away with article marketing, if you have the right tools and the right guidance.

And we’re here to give them to you.

To be an effective article marketer, you have to get the basics down and know some - WHAT???

Establishing Virtual Real Estate

VRE, or “Virtual Real Estate”, is the key to becoming successful online. Simply put, how much content do you have online?

The more content you have online, the more of the internet that you own. That’s right, you can own pieces of the internet, and in the exact neighborhoods where you want to be.

When you do a search for a particular phrase on Google, or any other search engine, pages of results come up. Each one of those pages is virtual real estate. Every article that you write, every blog and every website that you create and fill up with articles, is like a cottage that you have placed somewhere on the search engine’s real estate.

Now, there are many phrases that people could type in to find an article that you have written. The more articles that you write, the more chances there are that when someone types in a phrase like “how to buy foreclosures” or “cheap vacation destinations” or whatever niche you are in, they will find the article that you wrote listed in the search engine results.

The more pieces of internet real estate that you create with your articles, the more website traffic that you create for yourself - and traffic is the life blood of your business.

Now that I’ve explained to you how important and powerful article marketing is, let’s get started with specific ways that you can make your articles the most powerful and efficient money making tools imaginable.

Module 2, Originally Module 3

Top Secret Niche Market Research

Before you write any articles or build a website or blog, you need to find a profitable niche. You don’t want to waste your time creating content and registering a domain name and designing a nice looking site, only to find that you are marketing to a very small crowd or a crowd with no money, or a crowd that isn’t hungry for a solution.

To start with, you need to find a hungry market. A hungry market is one that is in desperate need of a solution, or is passionate about something.

For instance, someone who has severe acne is in desperate need of a solution. Someone who is overweight and self conscious about it, or is suffering health issues because of it, is desperate for a solution.

Someone who is broke or hates their job and wants to find alternate ways to make money, is desperate for a solution. Someone suffering from insomnia, or wanting to win back a lost loved one, or to attract a member of the opposite sex, is desperate for a solution.

And incidentally those are all very big, very lucrative markets.

As for being passionate about something - someone who likes to scrapbook isn’t desperate for a solution like someone who is overweight - but scrapbookers spend small fortunes on their hobby, because they are passionate about it.

The same goes for videogamers and music lovers and all kinds of hobbyists and fans.

But how can you be sure that there is a big, hungry market for the niche that you are interested in?

You MUST do research beforehand, or you can find yourself wasting a lot of time and getting frustrated.

One of the best ways to find out if there is money in a niche, is to use our old friend, Google.

Let’s say you want to find out if adult acne is a good niche. Type in “adult acne” and you will find 1.38 million competing sites.

This is a good sign. If you find a niche with little or no competition...there’s no money in that niche.

Yes, to get found on the internet with that many competing sites in the adult acne niche, you will have to refine the keyword phrases that you are going to use a lot more, but we’ll get to that shortly.

Next, look for ads on the page. There are three sponsored ads at the top of the front page of results, and many pages of Adwords ads on the right side of the page.

You can tell this because at the bottom of the front page of Google, under the ads, it says “More Sponsored Links”.

What does this tell you?

It tells you that advertisers are making money in this niche - which means there IS money in this niche.

As another example, go to Google and type in “flat abs”. There are 3.46 million competing sites. There are a lot of people out there who would like to flatten their abs. They will pay to learn how.

On the right side of the page, again, are adsense links.

Now, let’s look at a niche that does not have a huge market.

Type in 1800s porcelain dolls - and there are 23,5000 competing sites, no sponsored links on top, and only two Adwords ads on the right, and one of them is for general 1800s merchandise.

Yes, there may be avid collectors out there, but it’s going to be a very small market.

As a comparison, type in “scrapbooking” and there are 4.25 million competing sites, and many adwords ads down the right side of the page, and sponsored ads at the top of the page. That’s a big market that spends money.

Make a list of potential niches that you might be interested in, and then continue your research to get into the minds of your potential customers.

The best way to do this is to take advantage of internet forums. If there is a big hungry market out there, you can be sure that there is a forum dedicated to it.

Join the forums in your potential niche, and spend a little time reading through people’s posts.

There are dating forums, weight loss forums, pet owner forums, every kind of forum that you could think of.

They provide you with free, instant market research by giving you the perfect opportunity to eavesdrop on your potential customers’ conversations.

See what their frustrations are, and you will have a good idea of what products will solve their problems.

If dog owners are complaining that their dog chews all the furniture, the phrase “stop dog chewing”, “how to stop a dog from chewing”, and so on, would be good phrases to use in your articles - because that is what people will be searching for.

If bodybuilders complain that it’s taking too long to for them to see results from their workouts, then including phrases like “bulk up quickly” or “how to bulk up quickly” or “build muscle fast” would be good to include in your articles.

Traffic Generation

Now that you have gotten some of the basics down, and know how to effectively research your niche “target market”, it’s time to start driving traffic to your site.

Let’s outline some of the best methods to do that.

We’re going to start with back linking.

“Back links” simply mean when another website or blog includes a link to your website or blog.

A significant part of the google search algorhythm is how many web sites are linking to yours.

The more sites that are linking to yours, the more important Google figures your web site is.

It may be challenging for you, as a brand new web site owner or blog creator, to get other sites to link to yours.

However, you can create web sites and blogs and link them to your blog. Those will count, in the eyes of Google. Basically you can build your own back links.

Unique Content And Why It Is Important

When you are writing articles and putting them on your web site or blog it can be tempting to take the exact same article and submit it to article directories or use it on other blogs, to save time and effort.

Here’s why you shouldn’t do that.

Google “spiders scan” the web looking for new content. If they find multiple versions of the same article, they will decide which one was published first and give that one higher ranking.

As for the duplicate versions of the exact same article, they may briefly appear on the same page in Google, but they won’t stay there long.

Google is trying to provide people searching for information with as many different relevant options as possible. If the Google spider sees multiple copies of the exact same information available to it, it will give less priority to the versions which it determines were created later.

Generally they will be found many pages back in the list of competing sites. Very few people will look that far back, so you will have wasted your time submitting the same article to multiple locations.

Some people refer to this as the duplicate content penalty. It’s not literally a penalty, it’s just the way Google does its best to ensure that people don’t see ten versions of the same article on the same page, because that doesn’t serve its users well.
